ZenTune didn’t start in a boardroom—it started with a seven-year-old pulling apart computers and a lifelong passion for technology. From an early age there was a fascination with hardware and software, which led to formally studying computer science and building a deep foundation in software engineering before cars ever entered the picture.

Once cars did come along, everything changed. That passion for code and logic evolved into a trade as a motor mechanic, building and wiring serious street and race cars, chasing power, and developing an understanding that bridged both the mechanical and the digital worlds. Endless nights were spent on the dyno, fine-tuning calibrations, but real validation always came at the track—because numbers mean nothing if you can’t prove them under race conditions. The track became the true playground, where every tenth of a second mattered.

The turning point came while fixing a stubborn DPF issue. In doing so, we uncovered a gap in the industry. Too many so-called “tuners” were simply copying and pasting files, hiding behind keyboards without any mechanical or electrical understanding. When we analysed the data from some of these vehicles, it was clear: some people had no business touching cars at all. That was the moment we decided to step in—to combine real motorsport experience with software engineering and deliver a professional, reliable alternative.
